Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners – Terra Technologies (CIP Terra Technologies) – a company working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for an Associate to join our office in Santiago, Chile.

The team

Our team brings deep investment knowledge across both mature and emerging renewable energy markets and technologies. The team plays a critical role in supporting CIP throughout the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects and infrastructure investments in fast growing economies across Latin America.

This includes providing strategic insights and analytics during key transaction processes and facilitating the financial analysis and valuation of the Funds and their projects. Our work ensures that energy market dynamics are fully integrated into investment decisions, helping to optimize value and manage risk across the portfolio. You will work closely together with a highly experienced team in an engaging and truly global environment.

Since CIP’s founding in 2012, the company has grown to become the largest dedicated renewable energy fund manager globally. To date, CIP has developed and constructed more than +50 greenfield renewable projects around the world and is developing a greenfield project portfolio of ~160 GW, with ~16 GW in operation or under construction. CIP manages 12 funds and has to date raised approximately EUR ~32 billion for investments in energy and associated infrastructure from more than 180 international institutional investors and seeks to continue in this growth trajectory towards raising EUR 100 bn by 2030.

The role

Based in Santiago, you will assist the Investment Team comprising professionals across Europe and CIP's Latam markets, focused on delivering financial analysis, market intelligence, valuation reports and investment presentations.

Reporting to the Manager for CIP within our Investment Team, you will play a key role in building and maintaining financial models and preparing materials for the Fund’s investment committee. Your work will ensure that CIP has the financial insights and market intelligence needed to uphold our leadership in the renewable energy sector.

In this role, you will take ownership of several critical investment decisions that are essential to our continued growth, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders across CIP. Your role within CISC will consist of, but not be limited to:

Key responsibilities will consist of:

  • Financial modelling: Build and maintain financial models using best practices and at the highest standards. Review of the economic and financial inputs used and compile technical assumptions from cross-functional teams within the organization.

  • Investment Process: Manage work-streams that form part of the complete investment process, from initial due diligence, project development & financing to the final divestment processes.

  • Internal Presentations and Marketing Materials: Develop and make high-quality presentations to be used for decision-making in investment committees, board of directors, fund reporting and external stakeholders.

  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to be used for decision-making. This may include deliverables to internal investment and development teams, but also to Investor Relations, Investment Management, Financial Planning & Analysis teams. Manage the negotiation of financing agreements and contracts with lenders and potential co-investors.

  • New Opportunities: Support project development, due diligence processes, M&A, financing, offtake, and other tasks that may be required for successful project execution.

  • Engagement with Third Parties: Oversee and coordinate relationships with external partners and advisors including project developers, energy offtakers, lenders, equipment suppliers and technical, legal, and EPC contractors.

You

You come with 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure investment funds or corporate development at an energy company, supported by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, engineering or a related field. Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage your workload effectively are essential.

The role involves extensive financial modelling and cross-functional collaboration, so comfort in these areas is key.

We look for the following in a candidate:

  • Comprehensive analytical skills with close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Solid corporate finance knowledge, particularly in terms of valuation and financial modelling.

  • Demonstrate effective communication, with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority.

  • A structured approach towards complex tasks and ability to work well in demanding situations.

  • Substantial experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

  • The flexibility to work independently with a self-starter attitude and willingness to collaborate across teams to deliver the required results.

  • Willingness to work in an international, efficient, and highly varied environment.

  • Advanced written and verbal English skills.
