The opportunity:
We are looking for a high-performing Analyst to join our investment team. This is a unique opportunity to participate at the forefront of venture capital in the Andean region and the broader Latin America. The Analyst will report to the Vice President of investments at Salkantay. The role will focus on sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and executing deals. This will be a great opportunity to develop relationships with key stakeholders within the tech ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, investors, policy makers, among others.
Responsibilities:
Support investment team with the sourcing of investment opportunities through engagement with entrepreneurs and key partners, and participating in demo day events
Conduct market research, company mapping, and competitive analysis within key sectors and target markets
Support the investment team in evaluating investment opportunities, preparing investment memos and analyses and participating in deal execution
Build financial models to project company performance, market size, investment returns
Monitor performance of portfolio companies and provide them with value-added support
Support the team in operational initiatives, such a pipeline management and knowledge sharing, as well as with internal and investor-related reporting
Requisitos:
>2 years of professional experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or at a tech startup
Advanced financial modeling, analytical skills and research capabilities
Fluency (written and spoken) in Spanish and English is required
Enthusiasm for technology and entrepreneurship, as well as a passion for impact
Strong attention to detail and a unquestioned work ethic
Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced team and remote setting
Exceptional relationship and interpersonal skills
Excellent business writing and communication skills
Though not required, an existing network or work experience in the startup/ venture ecosystem in Latin America will be highly valued
Location and conditions:
Currently, and in the near future, all operations are remote but our main offices are located in Lima, Peru (additional locations in New York, Miami and San Francisco).
